The weathering steel plate can be divided into tensile strength, Rockwell hardness, Brinell hardness, Shore hardness, microscope strength and high temperature strength. There are generally common Brinell, Rockwell, Brinell hardness three.
1. Tensile Strength (HB)

The measurement of tensile strength is more reliable, but generally HBS is only suitable for the metal composite materials below 450N/mm2(MPa), and it is not suitable for the hard weathering steel plate. In the steel pipe standard, the tensile strength is mainly used in a wide range of applications, usually to imprint diameter d to indicate the strength of the raw material, which is both visual and convenient.
For example, 120HBS10/1000130: indicates that the tensile strength value 120N/mm2(MPa) measured by maintaining 30s(seconds) with a diameter of 11mm bearing steel ball under the experimental force effect of 1000Kgf(9.807KN) is 120n /mm2.
2, Rockwell hardness (HK)
The Rockwell hardness test, like the tensile strength test, is all imprinting test. The difference is that it measures the depth of the impression. That is, under the sequential effect of the experimental force (Fo) and the total experimental force (F), the tensile force (cone or bearing steel ball) is pressed into the surface of the specimen, and after the required maintenance time, the main experimental force is removed, and the strength value is measured by the measured increase in the depth of the residual impression (e). Its value is an anonymous number, with the mark HR to indicate that the commonly used ruler is marked with A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, K and other 9 ruler marks. The scale commonly used in the strength experiment of weather-resistant steel plates is generally A, B, C, namely HRA, HRB, HRC.
Strength value is calculated using the above formula:
When using A and C scales, HR=100-e

The greater the e value, the lower the strength of the metal material, and the higher the strength.
3, Brinell hardness (HV)

The experimental force F of Brinell hardness is 5(49.03), 10(98.07), 20(196.1), 30(294.2), 50(490.3), 100(980.7)Kgf(N) and other six levels, and the range of strength values can be measured is 5~1000HV.
